Help, please, cookie, donut, cracker, shoes, hello, water, cat, car, beeping, all done, sheep, hippo, more, book and hole are just a few of the new words Case is adding to his 50 (+) word vocabulary. Last night Case threw his blanket over the side of his crib and we could hear him yelling ‘help, help, help, help please!” He is our little 19 month boy who cried wolf. So cute!
Case also understands the concept of 2 and counts everything that he can find two of. He comprehends the concept hot, cold and wet and loves to describe such things. Plus he is a quick learner and has already discovered that “please” is a golden word and needs to be used at all times. As we were driving down the road yesterday he finished all the fruit loops in his snack cup. He was saying, “More, more, more” from the back seat. I told him they were all gone. He then said “more please.” Normally that stick would have worked. It’s amazing to hear him finally able to express himself. I just can’t believe how his vocabulary is blowing up. Every day is something new!

My speech path friend told me that 18-24 months is the language explosion. So fun! Have a great time with your new word-ster.
