Busy Bee

To say that Case has gotten the hang of running is an understatement. He has only been on 2 legs a month but in that short time he is already running, dancing, stomping and chasing everything. Here he is running around the house with his Busy Bee from New Zealand fast behind him and having a great time. Case is at such a fun fun age!

Aloha Update

Aloha! We made it back from Hawaii and have spent the remaining week recuperating. We had a great time, but let me say, traveling in an airplane/airports 15 hours one way with a 1 year old is not easy. Case did great but I am so happy the trip is over. First of all we were so lucky he started walking before the trip because he spent most of his time entertaining himself by cruising all over the place. Cody and I were surprised at how far he could walk when given the opportunity. He must have walked 2 miles just at the airport alone the first day.

Here we are welcoming grandma and grandpa at the airport. I don’t know what we would have done without my mom (lele) and dad (papa) helping us with nap times, bed times and general entertainment.

We spent the first several days mainly at the hotel. The beach was just a short walk away.

Aren't these two adorable!

Case was not impressed with the sand so after our first pics with his feet in the ocean we actually never went back.

He spent most of the time warming up to the pool. After a day or so he actually began enjoying splashing around, sitting in his floatie ring and lounging in a pool chair under an umbrella eating Cheeto’s.
Our little beach bum headed to the pool.
More updates in a later post!

Problem Solver

If this isn’t brilliant I don’t know what is. The other day Case was holding onto his baby blanket with one hand and a toy with the other. I handed him a piece of trash and asked him if he wanted to throw it away for me. He looked at his baby in one hand, looked at the toy in the other and without hesitation leaned forward, took the paper towel out of my hand with his teeth and proceeds to head to the trash can. Talk about a problem solver!

The Cat Is Out Of The Bag

I am pregnant. Right now I am almost 10 weeks along. Our baby is due October 19, 2010. This baby made its presence known to me very early on. Deep down, I have known I was pregnant for almost 8 weeks because my body was telling me way before a test could confirm this baby’s existence. Cody and I saw our little fella on the ultra sound and heard his heat beat for the first time a couple weeks ago however seeing his heartbeat is what made everything official for me.

Cody got the news on Valentine’s Day and the realization that a new little person will join our family in the next few months becomes more real every day. Actually Cody is still saying I just have the flu, but deep down I know there is an excitement that God is blessing us with another child. We are so lucky.

I have gained at least 6-9 lbs already (Yikes!) and burp non –stop. I’m glad this is our second child because with all these sexy side effects I’m not sure Cody will touch me with a 10 foot pole again. Aside from porking up, burping, being ill and exhausted all the time, this little fella has given me a mondo case of pregnancy acne. I guess as long as I am feeling cruddy I know I’m still pregnant.

I am amazed at how quickly the last year and a half have flown by with Case by my side. However time is practically standing still since I found out I am pregnant. Every day is an eternity and I can't imagine how I am going to make it through 9 months of being pregnant. First of all I have been sick as a dog dog dog. I always feel like I am 30 minutes away from throwing up all day every day. Plus I am so exhausted I can barely move. It’s hard to accomplish anything even the smallest tasks. If Case gets more than some cereal thrown on the floor for breakfast he is a lucky man. It’s actually funny, when he runs out of cereal he comes up to me and says “more, more.” Sometimes I feel like I am feeding a pigeon at the park. Case loves my new condition because he is allowed to play with whatever he wants since most of the time I am laying on the floor. As long as he is making noise I can tell where he is in the house and what he is playing with. It’s when things get quite that I am forced from my place on the floor to go and find my little trouble maker.

We are all in for an adventure these next few months and I am ready for our family of 3 to be 4!

Walking and Popping

Case is walking! He decided to take his first cruise a week ago and I think the little guy has been closet walking all along because his first attempt carried him all the way across the living room. He has been trying out his new skill for about a week now and is already a pro. He can walk all around the house without stopping and cruise around the center island in the kitchen forever. Walking is not without hazards. He also has a shiny black eye and the tears have flowed more frequently. He is 18 months and I have been waiting on this milestone for awhile now. Here he is walking with his popper.
