I don't wanna

Cody and I have decided that with his upcoming travel schedule being so busy and for the sake of our marriage we need to find someone who can watch Case 5-10 hours a week. That way I can get most of my work done and on the weeks Cody’s home he can still get caught up after being gone. The only problem is that my schedule is so crazy it’s been near impossible to find someone. I have a set meeting every other week, but my on call schedule rotates. Some weeks I’m on call 2 days other weeks just 1 day and so far I haven't found a licensed day care who wants sporadic work. They all want someone who will can fulfill a part time gig or full time schedule. The thought of day care makes my stomach turn, but I have to have some kind of help. Trying to keep up the house, cleaning, shopping, laundry, running errands, watching Case all day and trying to juggle my full time job is just too much. Please pray that God will open up a door to some good trustworthy care for my most precious possession.

Gene Simmons

My little man has discovered his tongue and he is always wagging it around. I bet even Gene Simmons didn't have moves like this so early in life. Check out the tongue action below.

Gearing up.

Working the action a little bit.

Yahtzee! Check out that range.

Oh crap...I mean, Oh Croup

Last night I made my first midnight dash to the ER with my baby in the backseat. Case woke up at 2 am coughing and gasping for air. Initially I thought he was choking on something. I whopped him on the back, looked up his nose and stuck my finger down his throat. I paced around the room a couple seconds trying to figure out what to do and after my initial 3 minute assessment I decided there was no reason he should be gasping so I threw him in the car seat and we were off to the ER. Of course Cody is out of town and I had to make all these decisions on my own. On our journey I ran 2 red lights and only slowed down to 70 mph to check for oncoming traffic before I ran my red lights. There is nothing scarier than the thoughts that run through you head as your driving to the hospital with a gasping baby in the backseat. All the sudden you really realize you won’t be able to live if anything ever happened to him. I only got teary once for about 5 seconds and then sucked it up and put the peddle to the meddle.

The final diagnosis was he had Croup which is a viral infection that restricts airway. Croup typically occurs suddenly in the night, during winter when the air is dry and symptomatically looks like gasping and coughing. All and all we spent about 3 hours at the hospital where he received a couple breathing treatments, took some medicine and they monitored oxygen levels. I left the house in such a hurry I didn’t even have socks on let alone proper entertainment for my youngin during those long boring hours. They really should have flat screens in those hospital rooms. However I was highly entertained by the drunk man in the next room who yelled the entire visit, ‘I’m dying. I’m dying. I’ll be dead soon.” He was still dying when we left 3 hours later and no one seemed too concerned.

Anywhoo, I have a sicky-poo tired baby on my hands and I am exhausted. He has been super tired from the long night but won’t go to sleep on his own because he doesn’t feel well. So I have spent my entire day sitting very still with a sleeping baby in the crook of my arm. He went to sleep in his car seat so I am headed off to bed. I wish all of you good night and good health!

Picture time...again!

It's family picture time again. These are a couple pics we took before Christmas. I can't say enough how much I hate taking pictures at JCP (its been a disaster both times)! But since they’re so cheap I won’t rant about the experience given that we managed to squeak one or two pics out of a session.

This one is absolutely my favorite pic. Have I ever told you guys that I LOVE HIM!

Ho-Ho-Holy Smokes

We had a great year which was all the more enhanced because we had Case to share it with. On our long drive home I reminisced with Cody how just last Christmas Eve I was crying at my grandparent’s house over the thought of never being able to have kids after earlier that year the doctors said I couldn’t get pregnant without medical help. Little did I know while Cody stood there comforting and reassuring me everything would work out, I was already pregnant with Case. Christmas will never be the same again and for that I am forever grateful. Here are some pics of our little Christmas blessing.

Naughty or nice? Just laying around wondering what kind of goodies I'll be getting this year for Christmas.

Case and papa Christmas morning at our house. Case felt the need to dress for the occasion. Isn't he the cutest little Santa you ever did see?

He may be little, but Case still opened presents. Need I say that he cleaned up this year?
Relaxing after a long day at great grandma's house.

The big finale was a trip to see the big guy. Ho-Ho-Holy smokes I'm cute!
