Na-Na

Cole's new phrase is na-na.  He will na-na you when he wants to be tickled.  He will na-na you when he wants to be chased.  He will na-na you when he wants to be squirted with water.  He will na-na you when he wants to wrestle.  As you can see by the video no one can resist his taunts.  I think it is adorable and love how he rocks his little body and head side to side while he says na-na.  Oh how he teases us.

Trying To Hold On

We are in the process of remodeling all the downstairs floors of our house. 15 year old Vinyl is coming out and beautiful 18x18 tile is being put down. White carpet equal in age will be removed and replaced with hardwood as well. The result will be spectacular, but leading up to the change has been no picnic. Originally the transformation was supposed to take place in 1 week. Our plan was to get away for a mini family hotel vacation while everything touching the ground was picked up, moved and magically transformed in to beauty. However one glitch turned into several glitches and now the entire procedure is taking place over a MONTH! Ahhhhh! Our house has been in mild disorder for the past 3 weeks, chaos for the past week and a half, mayhem for the past 4 days and I am still waiting on the utter pandemonium to begin. I have managed to keep the big picture in sight (pretty new floors, pretty new floors). But yesterday was the first day it really got under my skin. I was okay having 40 boxes of wood lining the perimeter of my dining room with the table shoved over to one side for weeks while it “acclimated to our house”. I let things roll off my back when we had the washer and dryer in the middle of the kitchen. I have managed to keep it together the past 4 days while the refrigerator is in the hallway, stove in the dining room and the microwave and crock pot now reside in the front room. The bathroom has been turned into pantry with food stacked all over the washer and dryer and the laundry baskets are full of cups, plates and bottles. And don’t get me started on the dust, dirt and grime! Come on really! Let the torture end. I just want 1 room undisturbed. Until then my mantra which now only works part of the time is: pretty new floors, pretty new floors. June can’t come soon enough.

Is that a refridgerator in your entry way?  Why yes it is.

This is our new pantry.  It also doubles as a shoe rack and backpack holder.  Multi purpose!

My new counter space is also very versitle.  I can easily start laundry and make sandwiches with out moving one inch.  Maybe we will keep the arrangment this way...maybe not.

If the oven was actually in working condition in the dining room I would say this switch is genius.  Who needs hot plates when you can just pull dinner straight out of the oven and place it on to the table while sitting in your dining room chair?

I'm not sure we could add one more piece of flooring into the mix. Right now we have hardwood, ceramic tile, carpet, vinyl and concrete board all touching. I would say our current decorating style is eclectic bohemian gypsy.

Mother's Day Fishing Trip

We took a family fishing trip Mother’s Day afternoon.  The weather was gray and cool but we found a couple hours to sneak away.  Cody helped with casting and setting the hook but Case reeled in each and every fish all by himself.  Cole sat on the sidelines, threw sticks, ate pretzels, touched the fish and checked out the crickets.  Case thanked Cody at least 25 times for taking him fishing and said this was the greatest day of his life.  Awww!  What a great Mothers Day!

Mother's Day 2012

Today was Mother’s Day and I feel like I am the luckiest mother alive.  Words can’t possibly describe how blessed I feel to have these wonderful, challenging, beautiful, amazing men in my life.  The morning started off with cards and breakfast.  Case ate most of the breakfast bacon which was a compliment to Chef Cody.  Here Case is posing with his empty a plate of eaten bacon and my Mother’s Day card.  Cody spent the rest of the morning planting me the vegetable garden I have been wanting for the past 5 years.  He planted strawberries, tomatoes, bell peppers, watermelons, pumpkins, squash and cucumbers.  Case is so excited he has looked in our vegetable patch a gillion times hoping to spy a fully grown vegetable.  I can’t wait for him to harvest his first batch of goodies.  We ened the day with a fishing trip and lasagna dinner.  I felt very honored on my special day.

I Love You

Case: I love you mommy.
Me: I love you more.
Case: No, I love YOU more because you are bigger and there is more to love.
* I still think I love him more, but how do you argue with logic like that?

Mayhem

The grandparents have lovingly nicknamed Cole ‘Mayhem.’  These pictures depict Mayhem in classic form.  Cole is our hot roding tot who likes going fast (our car insurance will be sky high), drinking and saying cheers at the table at least 20 times a meal (I hope AA isn’t in our future), and tatting up his arms in original inking fashion (our little rebel).  I think Mayhem fits this cutie to a T.

It's Miller Time

The Miller moths have been born and in apocalyptic numbers.  At any given time we have at least a dozen moths in the house, which is just fine for Case because he gets to sharpen his hunting skills further.  He catches, captures and flushes all he can catch.  Sometimes Cole even gets in on the hunt.  The moths have been hours of free fun.
