Case’s room is finally finished. My parents came up for the weekend of the 4th and helped move the office into the basement and bring baby furniture upstairs. The bulk of the work was done that weekend, but Cody and I put the finishing touches on the room today. We hung curtains, pictures, and put the rocking chair in. It feels so good to have the room completed. I find myself walking by just to sneak a peak. I may be biased, but I think it is a picture perfect room for a little baby boy. Only one thing could make the room any more perfect than it already is, the day we bring baby Case home.

Double rainbow

Ever seen a double full rainbow? We got to see one over the 4th of July weekend. Pictures don’t do the rainbow justice, but we tried to capture its beauty anyway. Nubbs the bunny was also outside enjoying the view. Nubbs is our earless rabbit who eats our weeds in the evenings. Isn’t she a cutie.

Dry run…not really
Well, this week our family tested out whether or not the diaper changing station is in fact waterproof. Good news, its waterproof! Let me explain. I went into Cases room earlier this week to rearrange and fiddle with baby things. Somehow while leaving the room I locked the cat in the baby room. Apparently my brain is really foggy, because I didn’t even realize the cat was gone till 2 days later when I haphazardly went back into the room and there she was sleeping on the floor! OMG! Poor baby kitty! After apologizing profusely to my kitty, picking her up, making sure she drank some water and had some special food, I went back upstairs to assess the damage. She had been locked in there 2 days and the cat had to potty somewhere. So the hunt began. I looked in the crib, inside the closet, inside the baby bathtub, in the seat of the bouncy chair, everywhere but couldn’t find anything. I even started smelling things in case the mess had soaked into a soft surface. Then I found it; a huge puddle on the changing pad. Nothing was soaked into the pad and everything was just laying in an easy to clean up puddle sitting on the surface. So I am happy to say that kitty is doing fine and the waterproofing system really works. I guess that is one less thing to worry about working when the baby arrives. Thank you kitty.
