Comb Over

I think I am mildly obsessed with my son’s hair. I know Case just had a hair cut a couple weeks ago, but the lady really didn’t cut much. She just evened things up. His hair was still l-o-n-g. He had hair that went from the crown of his head all the way to the back of his neck. And the top of his head strongly resembled an old man’s comb over because he had hair that went from his side part all the way over to his ear. So yesterday I decided to take matters into my own hands. I took him into the bathroom and began cutting. I cut and cut and cut. After about 10 minutes I was almost done. Things were looking good and all I had to do was touch up the front a bit when Case wiggled as I snipped. Viola, hack job! I immediately thought, ‘Oh crap. How and the heck and I going to fix this? What am I doing? I’m not a hair stylist! I’ve never cut hair before. What makes me think I can cut my child’s hair?!’ Needless to say, the back of his head looks really good. The front…eh. At least we know his bushy mane will grow again. Until then he is sporting a mini hack job. But I still love him! Speaking of love, I still get teary eyed sometimes while holding and looking at him when he sleeps. Part of me feels like I’m living the best part of my life right now. I am a lucky woman.

Helping mommy in the kitchen with his comb over.
After the hack job. Case is still stunned at what mommy did to his hair.
While daddy is away, mommy will play....with Case's hair of course. Here he is sporting a baby hawk in an effort to cover up the uneveness. Doesn't he look macho?

FYI, some people may be agast that my son is sitting in a bumbo on a raised surface, but just to clarify, I only put him there in order to get a good photographic shot. Its too hard to lay on the floor and take pictures.

"when Case wiggled as I snipped" Way to blame it on the baby...it was his fault. He should know he has to sit still...

Love the hawk.

You freaked me out for a second when you said he wiggled as you snipped. Movement around sharp objects is not good. I love the faux-hawk though. Oh, and no kidding--kiddo has a LOT of hair!
