Shattered Dreams

The other day I went to pull out a dangler which Case hates. After snatching the booger I showed the nugget to him so he could see that all his struggles were not for nothing. I didn’t even get out the phrase, “see how much better you feel without this in your nose,” before he saw the booger and started gagging. I’m talking red eyes, tongue out, teared up gagging. Cody was watching the entire scene and he slowly shook his head and said, “Case is never going to be able to gut a deer.” Cody’s dreams of having a hunting buddy in Case are quickly fading away. Oh well, maybe he will find his outdoor partner in Cole.
