My Timid Little Tyke

Case has always been an observer. Observe first, act second. He likes to think about things before jumping in head first and that has been very obvious the past week or so. First we tried out story hour at the library. I was jumping up and down, doing all the movements with the other kids trying to encourage him to participate and he just sat there looking at all of us kooky people like we were off our rockers. Afterwards all the kids headed to the book section and he told me to “go, go, go” and headed to the door. Today we went to a dancing water fountain. Dozens of kids were having a blast getting wet and running through the streams but Case kept a safe distance from those wild hooligans. I guess we will try again next week and see if he warms up to the idea after a visit or two.

Regarding his newest passions, Case LOVES to mow. He mows morning, noon and night, inside the house and outside. Case still has a passion for tools, screwdrivers and batteries. Plus he has developed a new interest which is in full swing, cars. He loves all things cars, trucks and motorcycles. That means we don’t go anywhere without a hot wheel in hand. And even though our little boy is small for his age he is 100% boy. Case will be one tough cookie before it’s all said and done. He loves to “go fast” and walks/runs at least 1 1/2 miles with me everyday around the neighborhood. As a result for his need for speed, this child has scabs on top of scabs. At any given day he has skinned knees, bloody elbows, a roughed up chin, at least ½ dozen bruises or all of the above combined. No matter how rough he looks or what interests he develops, I love our little boy and all that he is becoming.
