Case has finally decided to think about showing interest in learning to walk. He can crawl as fast as a bullet so I can see why moving to what would initially be a slower mode of transportation would be unappealing. However he has decided to entertain the notion and give it a whirl. Most babies cruise on furniture for balance and then let go, not Case. He wants to go from a sitting position in the center of the floor, to a standing position and then walk, in that order only.
The fireplace is one of Case's favorite perches to practice standing. He also likes to sit on a package of toilet paper, pallet of water, case of pop or just about anything can be used as a push off pad for practice.
Look at me! I'm standing!
One step. Two step. Down we go. Maybe he will be walking by the time he turns 2.

I know how you feel about him never walking, but from one busy momma to another - he will do it and your life will never be the same. So enjoy these pre-walking days, and then enjoy it when he gets it down. It will be oh-so-fun!
I love the fact that even if we aren't living too near each other I get to watch the little ones' growth and "baby steps" in video and pictures. You know what they say about kids doing things at a rate they feel comfortable at. He's an active kid, he'll be walking before you know it. Every time I see a picture I can't believe how big he's getting!
Cute blog!
It's really exciting when a baby or toddler learns to walk!
