The movies have been ruined for me forever. Last night I watched Slumdog Millionaire. It took me 6 hours to go to sleep afterwards. Was it a good movie? Yes. Will I ever watch it again? No. Having a child does something to you and the tv/movie industry. Two years ago, I probably would have watched Slumdog and thought it a provoking movie, shocking but good. Now after having a baby, all I see is Slumdog and its horribly true depictions of child poverty, abuse and overall injustice which kept my stomach turning 6 hours later. Do I know things like this happen? Yes, but do I want to watch them happening? No, not in this phase of my life.
I guess I will be sticking to romantic comedy for the future.

man that is tough!! slumdog was unbelievable, but yes very sad at times.
I know how you feel. Right after Ethan was born, there was a lady all over the news for beating her kid in her white Toyota Seqouia at a shopping center parking lot. (I think she was a gypsy - for real.) You know how it is when you're up around the clock with a newborn and the only solace you have is the TV... Unfortunately for me, the only thing on was footage from a surveillance camera showing this lady hitting her kid over and over. It was awful! I started watching Nick at Night after that. Thank God for The Cosby Show reruns!
