Mother of the Year

The other night Case rolled over on his bottle in the middle of the night which resulted in a huge wet puddle in his bed. Case called out to me around 2 am and I came in to sop up the mess. I changed his sheets, jammies and diaper. When I picked Case up to put him back in the bed he hugged my neck and said, ‘Mommy, thank you for saving me.’ Even half asleep, I busted out laughing. ‘Thank you for saving me.” I’m not sure I would qualify for a humanitarian of the year award but it was at least nice to know I was appreciated.

Good Morning

How can you wake up in a bad mood when this is one of the first things you get to see? Cole is all smiles in the morning and I love it. Of course he doesn't wake up until 10:00, but when he finally does wake up its coos and giggles galore.

In other big baby news, Cole rolled over today. Both ways! He is almost 3 months old and he rolled over. I’m not sure he knew how he did it or if he will be able to do it again soon, but he rolled from his back to tummy and then lifted up his head and looked around for a bit. I was still cheering on his accomplishment when he rolled from his tummy to his back. Hooray for Cole!

Adorable

At least once every day I think to myself, Who could ever hurt a baby?! I mean really, just look at how fricking adorable this guy is!!!!!

Why Even Bother?

I try to prepare diversified and nutritious meals for my toddler every day. For example on the lunch menu today: chive cream cheese, meat and cheese pinwheels grapes and juice. Yet this is what he wants. Eggrolls, wontons, and broccoli. Might I add, this is what he wants EVERYDAY! Why do I even bother?

Christmas Part 2

Once the stockings were finished it was on to PRESENTS!

Presents, presents and more presents. Presents everywhere!

Sing-a-majigs. Scary and fun all at the same time. All the adults enjoyed playing with these little guys after the paper stopped flying.

This Christmas was very different since we had a little one participating. We were able to relive our childhoods through Case and share in many of his first fun Christmas experiences which I will treasure forever. In a couple years I can’t wait to see both of the boys running down the stairs excited for Christmas morning. What a joy. In the mean time I realize again and again how luck and blessed we are to have such wonderful children and a caring family. Christmas is truly about being grateful for the ones we love and I am lucky enough to have amazing people in my life to love and appreciate.

Christmas Morning

Christmas morning coming down the stairs. What did Santa bring me?

A red bike! Just like I asked for. This little tricycle is the smallest cutest thing you have ever seen. Actually at first, Case was not really sure what to think of all the presents and excitement everywhere.

But after a lap or two around the house on his new bike he began to warm up.

Next up, Stockings!


Typically there is so much loot we have to use stockings AND bags. Here Case is digging into the second part of his Christmas stocking stuff.

Everyone got lots of goodies. Yea a gift card!

Nothing says Christmas stocking stuffer like beef tamales sold out of the trunk of someones car on the side of the road. Yum.


Next up, more presents of course. What a big boy sitting at his new table and chairs.

Christmas Eve 2010

Christmas 2010 was full of family and fun. Case is just beginning to understand some of the concepts of Christmas. He can say Merry Christmas and Happy Birthday Jesus. He talked a lot about Santa flying in the sky, reindeer and presents but I am not sure he understood what to expect on the big day. Thank goodness my family was able to be here in Colorado to help with the fun and festivities. To start off, everyone had a good time making, icing and decorating cookies for Santa on Christmas Eve.

Each person was able to tryout a different pressed cookie design. Maybe the Christmas Eve margaritas helped make the fun more fun.

More sprinkles made their way into Cases tummy than on the cookies but the finished products still turned out beautiful.

Obviously the cookies were good enough to eat because here Case is sampling Santa's cookies in his Christmas Eve Santa Jammies. Just checking to make sure the cookies taste okay for the big guy!
